Cruiserweight is an indie rock band from Austin, Texas. The band was formed in 1998 and is composed of Stella Maxwell (vocals), Urny Maxwell (guitar), Dave Hawkins (bass), and Yogi (drums).
Cruiserweight's music is a blend of punk rock, pop, and alternative rock sounds. They have released three studio albums to date - "Sweet Weaponry" (2004), "Big Bold Letters" (2007), and "Opus Concord" (2019).
The band has toured extensively throughout the United States and has shared stages with several notable acts, including The Buzzcocks, Dashboard Confessional, The Breeders, and The Toadies.
In addition to their music, Cruiserweight is known for their DIY approach to their art, having created their album artwork and merchandise themselves. They are also active in the Austin music community, often participating in fundraisers and benefit concerts for various causes.
